Shortly after I arrived at Dallas Love Field, it was off to experience North Texas with host Paul and his sister Ann and brother-in-law Jim. Our first stop was at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, where I pursued my passion for nature photography and provided Francis with an Engagement Day photo of him and his fiance. After the arboretum, it was time for happy hour at Lakewood Brewing Co.

It’s time to head into Dallas, which is just two days away from totality. Will the sun shine on the Lone Star State? If these photos from Dealey Plaza, the Dallas World Aquarium, and the West End are any indication, the weather is looking pretty iffy.

The sun is shining and so is a field full of bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush. After Martha’s botanical photography excursion, it was off to the Richardson Market for brunch and a contemporary Celtic music concert by Plunk Murray.
