The Watershed Management Group returns for another two-day workshop at my place! Two WMG staffers, four volunteers, and one excavator gave my front yard a much-needed makeover. This project includes two basins that can harvest 250 gallons of rooftop runoff during a one-inch rainstorm. The first 20 photos show site preparations from day one. The next 32 show work done on the second day, which included shaping the earthworks basins, building a drainage slope that leads into them, plantings, and cistern priming. The final 14 photos display the finished front yard – with plant closeups – and cistern painting.
