When you build water harvesting basins, it's best to line the sides, which can be steep. This is often done with rocks. Collectively, the rocks prevent running water erosion during heavy downpours. The secret? Don't just place the rocks on the ground. Instead, build a little trench for the rocks to snuggle into.
